The PPA’s official mission is to encourage a high level of journalistic integrity and service to communities. The awards ceremony at the end of each convention recognizes those magazines who hit that mark, as determined by a panel of experts. (This year’s judges hailed from the University of Missouri's School of Journalism.) We won a Silver award for editorial design layout and two Gold awards for outstanding editorial!

PPA represents 120 parenting magazines from across the country, and because we are the only PPA-affiliated parenting pub in the Sacramento area, the annual convention gives us a rare chance to meet with staff members from other magazines and share ideas.

But don’t worry. We promise not to let this go to our heads. Month-after-month, our goal remains the same: to bring you more winning stories, stories that are attractive, intelligent and fascinating—just like you! Because our readers are winners too.
