All aboard The Time Machine… The Sippy Cups’ new CD comes out June 16!
We heart any kids’ rock band that parents can really, truly enjoy – not just endure! And few bands deliver that kind of stellar entertainment like San Francisco’s Sippies. Best known for their rocking, rollicking live shows featuring fun covers of pop and rock tunes by bands like The Beatles and The Ramones, plus giggle-inducing carnival antics, the Sippy Cups' latest release, The Time Machine, adventures into somewhat new territory, with 13 original songs, by turns rocking, rollicking, funny, and poignant.

Track 9, "Don’t Remove the Groove," is a stand-out – silly, happy, and infectiously funkalicious, it double-dog dares you not to get up and dance around the room with the kids. "My Angry Voice" is a sweet and understanding sing-along ode for any parent who has ever lost his temper. Other songs, like "My Loose Tooth" and "One Day Soon," lovingly capture what it's like to watch those magical childhood milestones zooming by at the speed of life. Kid time passes so slowly and parent time slips by so fast. Luckily, we have those "time machine moments," in between, when love transports us and life seems to pause... fruit tastes sweeter, breezes feel cooler, music sounds better, and smiles come easier.

Meet Sippy Doug! Time travel through our online archives (back to June of '08) when Sacramento Parent staffer, Melanie Heimburg, interviewed Doug Nolan (aka "Super Guy"). When he's not stealing the show as The Sippies' non-musical entertainment (Doug juggles, unicycles, clowns, and performs comedy skits that get giggles from kids and grown-ups alike), this dad of two is helping Nor Cal's next generation grow up green.
