Meet Dr. Dana Jacques

Dana’s husband, Daniel Jacques, nominated her for our Mom Next Door page. The couple moved to Roseville from Wisconsin recently. They have two boys, ages 8½ and 7. Of their new hometown, Dana says, “I love the great weather, the wonderful school system, and the easy access to everything!”

Her favorite advice for herself and other moms? “Don’t forget to take care of yourself! You can’t take care of others if you don’t take care of yourself.” For Dana that includes going on walks with the family, making time for friends, and a healthy dose of retail therapy now and then.

The best part of being a parent is…
getting tackled by my two boys when I come in the door!

The toughest part is…
saying “no.”

If I could choose any superpower, I’d pick…
super speed!

When I need to relieve stress, I head straight for…
the mall!

One of my proudest moments was…
when I helped my 8-year-old memorize a poem he thought he would never be able to memorize in time! 

I am currently addicted to…
the TV show House, M.D.! 

Nothing makes me laugh like…
my girlfriends!

When it comes to quality time with my family, I love…
exploring the area, visiting new towns, going to museums and on walks. 

A day with plenty of “me-time” would involve…
doing my daily crossword puzzle with a good cup of coffee, outlet shopping, and maybe a massage!

Hardly anybody knows I…
was a philosophy major in college. 

The best decision I ever made was…
to marry my husband, Daniel!

My philosophy is this:
