Want to go back to school?
Now may be your chance, with the S.P.R.O.W.T Scholarship
Granite Bay-based surgeon Dr. Christa Clark is a self-proclaimed “late pre-med bloomer”—and she understands the financial, emotional, and logistical complications of heading back to school later than your peers. As a mother, wife, and owner of a thriving practice, she also knows how difficult it can be to juggle family and work—even without factoring in the demands of higher education.
That’s why she created the S.P.R.O.W.T. Scholarship (Supporting & Promoting Real Opportunities for Women to Thrive). Developed to support California women on the non-traditional educational path, S.P.R.O.W.T. was created to help offset some of the burden of going to school as adult, parent, partner, or full-time worker.
“Education is so important, but it is easy for us to forget that many women don’t have the means to get the training they desire. It can be incredibly difficult to go back to school or juggle night classes with a full-time job and kids at home. It is my hope that this scholarship can help ease the financial concerns of continuing education for these women.” --Dr. Clark
The S.P.R.O.W.T. Scholarship is open to nontraditional, female students who live in California and plan on attending an institution of higher learning in California. “Just go. Just do. Don’t think, follow your heart. Do what makes you happy. No matter how old you are, whether you’re in your 20s and just getting started or even later in life, you have time to develop your dreams. You have time to become whatever you want.” --Dr. Clark
